The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Regional Manager is responsible for driving a safety-focused environment while building cross-functional relationships and facilitating a behavioral-based safety culture across assigned facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure company compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal HSE regulations
- Practice transparent compliance through HSE walk-throughs, corrective action logs, risk assessments, and behavioral-based safety observations
- Audit physical conditions and safe work practices; research standards and regulatory requirements
- Review plant reports and analyze industrial accident causes and health hazards for internal and external reporting
- Implement, educate, and maintain policies, practices, and programs related to occupational safety, health, accident prevention, and environmental compliance
- Lead and investigate near misses, corrective actions, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and reporting activities
- Recommend, develop, and implement programs to reduce work-related incidents and injuries, with emphasis on prevention, near-miss reporting, zero-incident goals, and risk mitigation
- Manage HSE training programs including Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention, Hazard Communication, Process Safety Management, and Lockout/Tagout
- Foster and support HSE Committees to build and sustain a strong safety culture
- Serve as subject matter expert on OSHA guidelines and environmental standards
- Develop and implement OSHA training programs
- Build cross-functional partnerships to strengthen accountability and execution of safety initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Health, Chemistry, or related field (Preferred) OR minimum of 10 years of related experience
· Minimum 5 years of related experience in an EHS capacity
· Experience in a distribution or multi-site environment preferred
· In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance practices
· Root cause analysis methodology
· Incident investigation protocols
· Environmental compliance reporting requirements
· Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations
· Risk assessment and mitigation practices
· Behavioral-based safety principles
· Training program development and facilitation
Professional Certifications:
· CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
· CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)
· CHMM or related environmental certifications (preferred but not required)
Languages Required / Preferred:
· English required
· Spanish preferred (where applicable)
