The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) plays a key role in driving growth by generating new business opportunities through proactive outreach to new, lost and existing customers. This role focuses on building and nurturing customer relationships while identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell and expand product and service adoption. The ISR should deliver high quality service, ensuring client needs are met while strategically uncovering new ways to create value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with prospects to understand their needs and present tailored solutions.
- Conduct structured daily outreach (calls, emails, digital touchpoints) to engage new, existing and potential customers.
- Drive upselling and cross-selling initiatives to expand customer purchases across product lines and services.
- Identify sales opportunities within existing accounts and develop strategies to maximize revenue.
- Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets, including revenue growth, upsell penetration, and customer retention.
- Schedule and conduct virtual discovery calls and provide product demos/samples as necessary.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, orders, and service needs promptly and professionally.
- Develop strong customer relationships by understanding their business needs and aligning solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with customer service and operations teams within the branch to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.
- Balance service-oriented tasks with proactive sales efforts to create a superior customer experience.
- Provide a positive customer experience to encourage long-term partnerships.
- Research, identify, and qualify potential customers within target markets.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in CRM systems.
- Prepare regular reports on outreach activities, pipeline progress, and account performance.
- Provide feedback to sales leadership on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- College degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years’ experience in inside sales, account management, or customer-facing roles (B2B preferred).
- Strong sales orientation with demonstrated ability to upsell and expand account value.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage structured weekly outreach and follow-up schedules.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
- Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first approach.
- Experience selling automotive or trailer manufactured parts preferred but not required.
- Ability to handle objections and adapt messaging to different audiences.
