JOB DESCRIPTION
- Dedicated local route delivering to Dexter customers in Florida weekly, including customers in Jacksonville and Miami.
- Home nights and weekends.
- Pay structure includes a combination of mileage pay, drop pay, and hourly pay. Average miles 1750-2000 per week, and 30-32 drops per week.
- Equipment is an automatic International Day Cab Truck pulling a 53' flatbed or drop deck.
- Deliver trailer and trailer products to customers timely while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several areas of the state.
- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
- Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road. Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws.
- Inspect trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
- Keep a log of activities.
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Take rest periods during trip, take special precautions while driving.
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Valid Class A CDL Required.
- Flatbed experience preferred.
- 1 year experience, including manual.
- Proven working experience as a commercial truck driver.
- Clean driving record - No DWI/DUI in the last 3 years.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
