The Director of Sales directly supervises Account Managers and Senior Account Managers within assigned region. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Assists in the developmental and implementations of strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
- Participates in sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
- Reviews market analysis to identify new business opportunities.
- Directs staff, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales performance.
- Delivers sales presentations to key customers in coordination with account managers.
- Meets with Key customers, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Analyzes and controls expenditures in region to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
- Promotes new products.
- Continually develops strong customer relationships.
- Continually identifies and pursues new business opportunities.
- Offers guidance and training, in both sales and product knowledge to the account managers within the region.
- Assists account managers with problems, questions, or customer issues as they arise on a day-to-day basis.
- Submits a monthly commentary regarding the region to manager.
- Attends and actively participates in monthly Cadence Calls and any other program or training assigned.
- Work Trade Shows, open house events, and/or other shows requested by customers as needed.
- Directly supervises Account Managers and Senior Account Managers with assigned region.
- This position will travel approx. 50% of each month

Minimum Qualifications
Requires Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or a comparable discipline AND at least 3 years related experience; ideally in a Sales Management position.

Skills and capabilities:
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
- Strong interviewing skills as well as coaching capabilities.
- Advanced skills in forecasting and financial planning.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality, timely and accurate work.
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Ability to drive timeliness and coordinate across groups to deliver on a common goal.
