JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Plant Controller will partner
and collaborate with the Plant Controller for the Albion, Indiana manufacturing
facility, ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely reporting of
results, comparative analysis, and commentary to Senior Leadership. This role
will contribute
to all areas of the plant financial department and provide support for business
planning activities.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
Partner with the Plant Controller and operations team to drive profitability, production cost optimization and efficiencies with a continuous improvement focus.
Perform timely monthly closing of the manufacturing systems to meet the stated deadlines and reporting needs, as well as provide timely and accurate response to requests for accounting information including internal and external audit requests.
Supports plant in pursuit of financial targets through in-depth analysis and sharing of financial knowledge by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports, making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.
Assist in preparing annual operating plans and the monthly forecast for the plant.
Assist in oversight of plant’s revenue and expense reporting, ensuring control, accuracy,
predictability, timely delivery of results,
comparative analysis, and supporting commentary.
Maintain proper accounting processes and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility to ensure no significant control issues or audit comments. Analyses of transactions and financial reporting for accuracy and proper presentation in accordance with US GAAP and corporate policies.
Responsible for maintenance and accuracy of standard costs in conjunction with Corporate Cost Accounting including BOMs, routings and purchase standards.
Assist in the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Optimize the use of the ADP system for payroll processing, hours entries, and obtaining proper approvals for processing
Provide support to Plant Controller by performing other ad hoc tasks or duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a comparable discipline and at least 3-5 years of financial and accounting experience ideally within manufacturing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree and/or CMA/CPA is preferred but not required. ·
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, accounting, and financial reporting software.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Analytical Skills: Solid understanding of relevant accounting principles and regulation. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with high degree of initiative and flexibility to successfully accommodate deadlines
