Warehouse Supervisor

Warehouse Responsibilities:
· Ensures an accurate and timely 1st shift order filling, packaging, loading, unloading, and all other 1st shift shipping processes.
· Investigate 1st shift order filling and shipping errors and prepare weekly summary reports and implement procedures to eliminate the errors
Ensure the procedures for the proper pulling, packaging, loading, and unloading of orders are followed.
· Supervise the unloading of all products from inbound trucks, ensuring that product is moved to the correct staging areas and positioned so that the product can be received in an accurate and timely manner during the 1st Shift's operating schedule.
· Supervise the loading of all products on outbound trucks, ensuring that the product loaded is packaged appropriately, so that it can be transported safely and kept damage-free while in route to our outlying branch facilities, subsidiaries, and vendors during 1st shift operating hours.
· Review all scheduled outbound loads shipping to our Branch locations to ensure optimum utilization of cube space and licensed weight of road tractors and trailers. Investigate and act to resolve any found deficiencies regarding the full utilization of each outbound load.
· Review productivity reports for direct reports. Ensure that all direct reports are maintaining pre-determined production/ accuracy standards.
· Provide input regarding effective and efficient methods of managing the shift warehouse functions, as well as other warehouse functions.
· Oversees the care and maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Includes keeping maintenance logs and records for all equipment.
· Report the maintenance needs of the Central Warehouse building and grounds to the Central Distribution Manager, following up to make sure these needs are resolved.
· Maintain security of the facility and report any problem to the Central Distribution Manager
· Follow personal safe work practices on equipment, use all personal protective equipment prescribed, and report all safety issues or injuries to management promptly no matter how minor.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
· Establish priorities and procedures to regulate the processes, tasks, and activities of the Central Warehouse, use staff effectively to perform tasks or handle responsibilities based on their skills.
· Foster a work environment characterized by mutual respect, and effectively handle any disagreements or conflicts that may arise.
· Provide direction, define priorities, and set clear expectations for the Central Warehouse 1st shift staff.
· Use coaching skills efficiently to improve staff performance; conduct effective and timely performance reviews.
· Supervise the Central Warehouse staff, training them for tasks necessary to perform their jobs satisfactorily, scheduling their workload so that all customers are serviced in a timely fashion; provide recommendations for wage reviews, hiring decisions and disciplinary actions.
· Assume responsibility for the completion of all duties for vacant Central Warehouse positions in your area of responsibility.
· Ability to cover other areas and departments as needed to cover for other Supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications
· Associate degree
· 4 years of relevant experience
· Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
