JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for leading and continuously improving the plant’s quality systems and culture. The main facility spans 36,000 square feet and employs approximately 25 non-union employees operating across one - two shifts.
In addition to quality oversight, this role carries key safety responsibilities including reinforcing workplace safety practices, identifying and mitigating potential hazards in quality control operations, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance established quality control processes and systems.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives and implement process improvements using lean methodologies.
- Support safety protocols by identifying risks in QC procedures and promoting a safety-first culture.
- Conduct internal audits and support external quality audits (ISO, TS, etc.).
- Provide training and guidance to team members on quality standards and safe practices.
- Use statistical tools such as control charts and gage R&R to monitor and improve processes.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and meet customer expectations.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of quality metrics and incidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree is a related field, plus 2–5 years of manufacturing quality experience (preferably in high-volume metal fabrication). Candidates without a degree will be considered with 7–10 years of relevant experience.
- Background in lean manufacturing environments such as Six Sigma, Kaizen but not preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO or TS quality standards.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to use basic measurement tools and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality/statistical software.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
- High energy, hands-on approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
