JOB DESCRIPTION
A warehouse lead oversees all warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving materials or goods, maintaining inventory levels, and recording warehouse information. In terms of managing warehouse worker, a warehouse lead will train new employees, assign work, evaluate individual reports, and resolve performance issues.
- Shipping/receiving goods & materials. Verify quality and quantity and record any variances. Make sure goods are stored in designated area in warehouse
- Supervise loading and unloading operations. Verify bill of lading, invoices and load sheet are completed
- Supervise forklift and pallet jack operations
- Establish a safe working environment and use of PPE
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse. Assist Branch Management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures
- Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees and drivers
- Supervise counting, weighing, and identifying of parts meant for shipmen
- Check parts against customer picking ticket
- Perform daily inspections of warehouse equipment and grounds
- Assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of vehicles and equipment
- Verify all inventory has a storage location; both physically and electronically
- Other duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Warehouse supervisory experience
- Calm demeanor and level head for trouble shooting and handling a variety of issues
- Ability to carry out developed procedures
- Effective and professional demeanor when engaging customers and employees
- Excellent organization skills and ability to delegate
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
- Forklift operation experience
