Job Description
The Plant Manager is the overall leader of the site and business operations. In this role, the Plant Manager directs operations in accordance with the company’s operational imperatives, principles, policies, and procedures as well as:
- Continuously promotes and grows a culture of Safety.
- Drives commitment to quality throughout the operation, assuring excellence in customer service.
- Promotes an environment of trust, employee involvement, and engagement.
- Provides direction, leadership, and development to managers and supervisors.
- Develops annual budget, monthly forecasts, and gap analysis of financial performance.
- Budgets and manages capital expenditures.
- Champions continuous improvement.
- Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
- Reviews production costs and product quality.
- Modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance the operation.
- Implements programs to assure the operation maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all areas.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive the success of the health, safety, quality, and financial performance of the plant.
- Model operational rigor through daily/weekly/monthly rhythms to provide direction of clear goals and objectives for production areas.
- Responsible for ensuring all direct and indirect employees understand their personal role in achieving company standards.
- Demonstrate and maintain the standard of impeccable integrity
- Foster plant Safety, Quality and Production successes along with continuous improvement to create new ways in which to operate the business better.
- Foster and develop an environment of Zero Accidents.
- Achieve and maintain On Time Delivery of 98% or better.
- Partner with Corporate support resources to develop processes that improve the overall working environment, enhance Safety, and drive productivity for the shop operations.
- Build and nurture a culture in which challenges and opportunities exist for all employees based on individual capabilities and initiative.
- Implement Lean/Sigma methodologies and tools to maximize efficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline with site management experience
- English, Spanish as second language preferred
Travel & Work Environment:
- Minimal traveling required at frequency of 2x a yr. by air with proximities of 250-1000 miles.
- Manufacturing office and shop environment with very high temperatures in the summer months
